Finally….Botanical Beauty (2016) was my entry into our GARDEN art exhibition recently held. It was printed on linen (although I also have a copy printed on archive quality fine art photography paper too) and it looks amazing! I was so happy with it after a nervous start when I realised the original photo was taken on my phone and not my trusty canon!
It’s such a great feeling when an image comes together just as you imagined in your head.
Roses from garden today….pink and violet and gorgeous..what a lovely sight to see….
Winter isn’t the normal time for roses to bloom. It is a time of dormancy and pruning, caring and quiet bare branches. Apparently my roses did not get this message as today, after all the recent cold weather and the torrential rain…I have roses blooming on bare branches…delicate, fragile and the palest pink…a perfect winter rose.
Roses, berries, leaves, trailing things – my most favourite bouquet of flowers – a bit wild, very romantic and quite “messy”….. perfect in my eyes! This bouquet was beautifully crafted just for me…how lucky I was!
It was so pretty, romantic and gorgeous that I just had to share it with you. Sadly all I have left are three dried roses and some photographs now.
Some hand picked roses from my garden. An old pale green and gold port bottle for a vase. This is a reminder about noticing and appreciating beauty in the every-day, finding perfection in the imperfect and the simple joy in a bunch of hand-picked and home-grown flowers.
