I was taking photos of the sea, it was brilliant blue and in full glimmering, shimmering glory. This striking image was taken at the same time, yet has origins that are less obvious, less stunning. It was not the sea that inspired this image, but rather, the graffiti and vandalism-riddled public park-bench we sat at, to admire the ocean view…
